01 Trip length
For most private Bali itinerary designs, there are three common trip lengths.
A focused escape
5 days
Ideal for a short break, pre- or post-Asia business travel, or a “test” trip to Bali.
The classic first-timer plan
7 days
One or two bases, a mix of coast and culture, without rushing.
Families, honeymoons & wellness
10 days
Best for multi-generational families, honeymoons and wellness-focused stays, with time for Nusa Penida or the Gilis.
Rule of thumb: first time from Europe or the US, aim for 7–10 nights; repeat visitors based in Asia-Pacific, 4–6 nights can work; families with young children, 7+ nights is noticeably more relaxed.
02 Price bands
For guidance only, assuming 2 people sharing and excluding international flights – last verified June 2026.
Exact pricing varies by season, villa, inclusions and availability. Mid-July to late August, plus Christmas–New Year, generally carry higher nightly rates with stricter minimum stays; shoulder seasons (May–June, September–October) often deliver the best balance of rate, availability and ambience.

For five nights, you will enjoy the trip most if you pick one primary base and keep transfers simple.
Couples · Uluwatu
Best for couples, friends and short-haul flyers from Asia or Australia, in a pool villa or clifftop resort. Estimated total for 5 nights (excluding flights): USD 3,750–9,500+.
Wellness · Ubud
Best for solo travellers, couples or friends prioritising rest, spa and gentle nature. Estimated total for 5 nights (excluding flights): USD 3,000–8,000+.

04 7 days
Seven nights is the sweet spot for a balanced itinerary: Uluwatu (3 nights) + Ubud (4 nights), in private pool villas or suites in both locations.
Indicative budget (2 guests, last verified June 2026): villas and suites USD 450–1,200 per night; experiences, driver, spa and dining USD 250–700 per day; estimated total for 7 nights (excluding flights) USD 5,000–13,000+.
05 Honeymoon
For honeymooners and anniversary trips who prioritise privacy over nightlife: Uluwatu (3 nights) + Ubud (4 nights), or Ubud (4) + East Bali (3), in adults-oriented pool villas.
We generally avoid stacking too many “romantic set-ups” in a row. One or two well-placed surprises feel considered; five different flower baths can feel like a schedule. Estimated total for 7 nights (excluding flights): USD 6,000–16,000+ for 2 guests, last verified June 2026.
06 10 days
Ten nights allow for a truly layered trip: fold in an island-hopping segment to Nusa Penida or the Gilis, or settle into three distinct bases without living out of a suitcase.
Villa life + water
Uluwatu (3 nights) + Ubud (3 nights) + Nusa Penida or Gili segment (4 nights). Estimated total for 2 guests (excluding international flights): USD 8,500–24,000+.
Families
Seminyak or Canggu (5 nights) + Ubud (5 nights) in multi-bedroom staffed villas. Estimated total for a family of 4–6 (excluding flights): USD 9,000–28,000+.

07 Where to stay
The most important design work is not “what to see” but where to sleep and how you move.
Clifftop privacy, strong sunsets, more driving to shops and other areas.
Beach access, dining and boutiques, more activity around you (and more traffic).
Jungle and rice views, culture, cooler evenings; driving times to the coast are longer.
Quieter, more traditional in feel, fewer high-end venues but more space and calm.
Island feel, better water colour, dependence on boat schedules or charters.
For a first or second visit, we rarely recommend more than two bases in a 7-night itinerary. Three bases make sense from 10–14 nights upwards.
08 Villa or resort
Each has clear trade-offs.
Many of our itineraries mix the two: for example, a villa in Seminyak or Canggu, followed by a resort in Ubud with a stronger wellness program.
09 Road, air, sea
We plan with realistic times.
Private jet handling is arranged through Bali’s existing facilities, working with your aviation provider.
10 How we curate

Five nights can work for a focused escape if you keep to one main base and avoid long transfers. From 12–14 nights onward, it becomes realistic to add a third area or an island segment without turning the trip into a constant unpack–repack cycle.
A classic 7-day plan for first-timers is 3 nights in Uluwatu and 4 nights in Ubud. You arrive and decompress on the cliffs, spend one day on the beach and one for light exploring, then transfer inland via rice terraces. In Ubud, you have one culture and craft day, one nature and wellness day, and one mostly free day. It keeps driving times reasonable while giving you both ocean and jungle experiences in a week.
Costs vary widely based on season, group size and how private you want each element to be. As a broad planning band (last verified June 2026), couples typically spend from around USD 5,000–7,000 for a high-end 7-night trip (good villas or suites, private driver, a handful of curated experiences) up to USD 15,000–25,000+ for ultra-private villas, extensive spa and dining, and air/sea elements. Families and larger groups usually see higher totals but lower per-person costs when sharing villas.
Yes, provided you choose the right areas and villa setup. Multi-bedroom villas in Seminyak, Canggu and Ubud can work very well for families, with private pools, gardens and on-site staff who handle breakfast and often simple child-friendly meals. The key is realistic drive times, age-appropriate activities, and enough unstructured villa time so children are not over-scheduled.

That can include private jet handling at Bali’s airport, helicopter transfers between selected points, and yacht or upgraded fast-boat options for island segments.
